Greetings Ellenora!
ReplyDeleteI like how you talk about your family and about your culture.
I really like it! Good Job!
Talofa lava Ellenora,
ReplyDeleteThat is awesome that you come from Samoa! I come from Tonga so our countries are very close to each other and we also do White Sunday in my culture. I think that it is so cool that you have shared your culture because it is very important to know where we come from and who we are. I am interested, what is your favourite traditional Samoan food?
I can really see that you are keen on completing your activities! I think by adding some bright colours or a few pictures to your blog post I think it would really catch people’s attention.
Keep up the great work Ellenora :)
Malo,
Mani
Good Afternoon Ellenora,
ReplyDeleteI am Samuel, a Year 7 student attending Sacred Heart College. I am part of a trial period in which they are trying out students to be bloggers, which means it is my first experience with this sort of position. However, I did complete the Summer Learning Journey as a student in previous years.
I really enjoyed reading your blog post and with it, exploring and learning the fascinating and vast Samoan culture. I am Tongan and though my family and I abide by a lot of the traditional customs of the culture, I feel I have just scratched the surface of the vast culture that is Tonga. that is fascinating that you celebrate White Sunday. What branch of Christianity do you belong to? There is a Tongan version of White Sunday named fakamee, but it is a Methodist practice, and my family and I are Roman Catholics, so we don't celebrate this.
I believe that you have great ideas and there is one thing you could really use to accentuate the writing that you put in your blog post and that is presentation. This can include inserting eye-catching and relevant images that matches the writing, adding vibrant colours etc.
one more thing that is vital to good writing is punctuation and grammar. As a student, I love writing and I learnt that if you pay attention to the minuscule details like commas, periods and capitals, it will become second nature. Apart from that, a very good blog, well done Ellenora.
Kind Regards,
Samuel
Hi Ellenora! It was really nice getting to read about your culture and background. I can tell you know a lot about your country, and express your religion in all sorts of ways. I'd love to be able to explore and look more into my Tongan history and culture, I haven't been there yet though I would definitely take up the offer! Samoa is a beautiful place, have you ever been there? If so, what was it for/what did you do? This would be a great addition to your information! Great job Ellenora, keep it up.
ReplyDeleteHi Ellenora,
ReplyDeleteI liked how you even included one of your culture's holiday events. I found it interesting that for White Sunday you pray to God and celebrate with friends and family. What do you like the most about White Sunday?
