SLJ | Activity 1 | Day 5

This week for the SLJ I had to write down if logging should continue or if logging should NOT continue and WHY? Down below is my opinion on this.

I think that it is not good to have people cutting down trees because a lot of animals live on trees. If people cut down trees, the animals wont have a place to live.

SLJ | Activity 2 | Day 4

This week for the SLJ, i had to describe where I would have my hotel room and what I would put in it. To earn 5 extra points I had to make a Google Drawing and write what I would put in it.  Above my blurb should be my drawing. of my hotel room.

I wanted to have my hotel room near the beach so that I could go an walk over to the beach, I like to see the view of the Beach.

SLJ | Activity 1 | Day 4

For this activity I had to write down 5 questions that I would ask Sir Edmund Hillary. Down below is my 5 questions. I used the 5 W's to start off the questions.

1. Who supported you to climb Mount Everest?
2. What was the most shocking thing that happened whilst climbing Mount Everest.
3. When did you decide to climb Mount Everest.
4. Where did you go to get your gear to help you survive on the Mountain?
5. Why did you not run out of oxygen whilst climbing the Mountain?

SLJ | Activity 3 | Day 3

This week for the SLJ I had to watch a video about the WWF saivng an amnimal, I had to find out what animal they were saving, what they were doing to save that animal and if any success they made out of helping that animal. Down below is the finished task.

WWF were trying to help the Saimaa seals by building snowbanks. They were trying to build snowbanks for the seals to give birth to new baby seals. The seals had to give birth in a snowbank or else the baby seal would not be safe. WWF had people take time off from their day to help make snowbanks. Their success on helping this animal was that they made over

SLJ | Activity 2 | Day 3

For this activity I had to write if I wanted to be a DOC Ranger or not and why? Also I had to talk about the good & bad things about Skinks. Down below is my finished activity.

Good Things

1. Skinks help gardens by eating all the insects
2. Big Skinks hunt down Rodents. Rodents are bad for some countries.
3. A lot of people like Skinks, so people can have them as pets.

Bad Things

1. Cats and dogs don't like Skinks, So they could chase them and eat them.
2. Some people hate skinks, they will do anything to kill them.
3. Skinks are scary.

I do not want to be a DOC Ranger because I don't like touching reptiles.

SLJ | Activity 1 | Day 3 | Week 1

For this activity I had to think of an imaginary beast. I had to describe what it looked, smell, feels and sounds like. Down below is my imaginary beast description.


My beast is a nice beast. It looks like a polar bear. It Smells like Strawberry & Pineapple. My beast feels like a fluffy cloud, it sounds like a bear. My beast is called the "The Icy fluff bear" I think that my name that I made was very creative.

SLJ | Activity 3 | Day 2

So for this activity I had to solve a Maths Question. This is the question Let’s imagine that you are given a cactus for your birthday. To keep it alive, you must give it 3 ml of water every day.

Over one full year, how much water will you need to give your cactus plant? I will be solving that Down below.

If my cactus needs 3 ml of water every day, that means I have to feed it 365 times, because there is 365 days in a year. So What I did was, I got 3 ml and I multiplied it by 365. The answer that I got was 1095 ml. That means that my cactus need 1095 ml of water.

SLJ | Activity 2 | Day 2

This task is called Fabulous Ferns. For this activity I had to find 3 teams that have Fern in their title, Also the teams that I find have to have a fern on their uniform. My three teams are the 'Black Ferns, White Ferns and the Silver Ferns." Out of the three I like the Black ferns the most, because they are a girl team, They are also similar to the All Blacks.  All the teams I chose are girl teams.
