SLJ | Activity 3 | Day 2

So for this activity I had to solve a Maths Question. This is the question Let’s imagine that you are given a cactus for your birthday. To keep it alive, you must give it 3 ml of water every day.
Over one full year, how much water will you need to give your cactus plant? I will be solving that Down below.

If my cactus needs 3 ml of water every day, that means I have to feed it 365 times, because there is 365 days in a year. So What I did was, I got 3 ml and I multiplied it by 365. The answer that I got was 1095 ml. That means that my cactus need 1095 ml of water.

  2. Kia ora Ellenora,

My name is Susie and I am a member of the SLJ team. It is a pleasure to finally have a look at some of the SLJ activities you've been posting!

Well done on explaining where you got the number '365' from. I can see that you have clearly understood this question. Ka pai for coming up with the correct final answer! As a bonus question, do you think you can now convert (change) this answer into litres (L)?

In other words, how would you write 1,095 ml in litres? Have a think!

    Ka kite,
    Susie :)

  5. Talofa lava Ellenora,
I really like your maths and your strategy. Next time you should add a simple picture and also write what you have learned. I also like how you have decided to answer this task. I like how you answer your questions probably. I choose the same answer as well. Was this activity hard?

    Was this hard?
