Rhythm Interative's Visit to PBS

This week  we were visisted by THe Rhythm Interactive. We did Drumming, We had an instructor, the name of the instructor was  "Johnny". Johnny taught us beats and rhythms. LS2 helped the juniors, just in case they needed help. We were not by ourselves, we had the whole school join us for this event. Johnny told us about a phrase that helped him with drumming "If you can say it you can drum it". When he would do a beat or a rhythm we would copy him and repeat what he did. We played on drums that were made from Africa, the name of the drums were Djembe. I liked learning from Johnny because I have never tried drumming before.

Kiwi can

This  week for kiwi can we did a game  we had  a pareter   there one in the front and the back . It play this game we did  was parte was in the back  and the back person  had   a  bling fonld on they back peson for this and anther parter had to tater the  back person you have but the front peson  had to tay the people .This is how to play  this game .Are theme this week was reliability we learn how to  tried are firends this is a theme and toic at the same time all week.The season  game we play was a  reliability  game and see if we kold do it  we had to see  if we can bondls on each eather it got harder everytime  we got there the game we had it reliability on are petter  it how us .Other  game we play QNR  someone walk around and see if we can win this and move on to anther person and see if they cone win  The kiwi can teasn said question and we had to anustion them and the last peson is the mansuter .I ling lot of new this in kiwi can this week.

Tech

Today for tech we did 4 design  that make you think and  make it yours and you can.   For my 4 design  my  favorite  one is a polar bear with a maze on it .The first one I did was a  emoji  kentio 4 into the spae of a heart and a cyile , an a ice cream theme skeam and letter  and the last thing  I'd did was a chess and this I'd lif this one like it was .I was so happy  with my design .This it was kiny  a hader and easy at the some time .Next week we are chose are design  and seeing how we can make it into a 3d parter .This what I did this week and what we are doing next week .

Inference in maths

This week in maths we are learning to inference. Inference means to read the text and skim and scam for the hints that tell you what is happening. I worked collaboratively with Ellanora to create a DLO that tells other peolpe Inference in maths. We have put in a example of how to infere when you are asked a maths question. Our question talks about rows in a chocolate bar.

Hiwi Kiwi show

Hiwi Kiwi show 

This week we watched a show called Hiwi the Kiwi Mr and Mrs Minstral were the stars of the show . They taught us that fish and birds are dying from plastic and rubbish that is going into the sea, because they think it is food and if they eat it they could die. To pick up a fish you need to hold it in a wet towel to keep them from not dying. You need to put any very small fish or very big fish back into the water again and let them swim so they can keep growing.. Mr Minstral sang a song called Kai Moana, this means fish from the sea, and Mrs Minstral danced with the whole school. If we don't have fish we have less jobs and no food from the sea. Mr and Mrs Minstral told us to teach our parents how to hold a fish and always wearing your life jacket is an important thing when you go fishing. The black petrol birds eat fish. Sometimes they think it is a fish but it's plastic in the water and they eat it and can die . The black petrol birds are nearly extinct. This is why you should pick up rubbish. This is what you can improve on to save fish and birds or even other sea animals.
I felt like this show was helping us learn ways to save the sea animals. I really like the songs that Mr Minstral sang and Mrs Minstral's dancing, it was a fun way to learn.

Ballet

Yesterday Chloe who is a Dance Educator from the Royal New Zealand Ballet came to PBS to teach LS2 a dance sequence .  The dance was based on the famous ballet 'Swan Lake' and was called 'Black Swan, White Swan'. We learnt contemporary and modern dance movements which Chloe taught us,we also had to improvise for the ending. The music was classical music by Tchaikovsky.

I really enjoyed this experience and appreciate this great opportunity to learn about the ballet.
A huge thank you to Chloe for teaching us and also to Mrs Jones who organised this great opportunity for us.

Strengthening connections to maths language

Today Eyaka and I completed this Maths Vocabulary DLO about Maths language. We started with the word  “Hello” and we discussed the different ways people say hello in other countries, like Bonjour, Konichiwa and Ni hao. Last week Whaea Donna visited LS2 and helped Mrs Anderson to find ways we could strengthen our maths language. We learned about the 2 meanings of the word plane, we did not know that the word plane has two different meanings. In Mathematics, a plane is a flat, two-dimensional surface.  Our DLO shows different words we use in Maths to help us with maths equations.

Phonics

  
Yesterday we did phonics we did the at family we think of all the words that has  at has the word that we have the words chat ,sat ,cat, mat and all the mean word .There where more word we had to find like ratbag, that,patchwork, mat ,habitat scratch ,sprat. Then we did find the missing word .Then we did 4 word that has at word then 5 and 7 a sentence   that has at word and we learning lot of new words  this week in at .  This is lot of funny doing this .

Student Led Conferences

Yesterday at Student Led Conferences I shared my Learning Journey with My Mum. I showed her around the classroom and introduced her to Mrs Anderson. When we were walking around the classroom Mum could see my completed work on the walls and I was especially proud of my Agent of Change DLO. I also showed her some of the work on my Blog and she was happy with all of my work and especially liked my Penguin Information Report.

Tech

Today for tech we  stared to do are shandy  on are  pish of paper in the  shape  of a 3d shape .We stared to do light then middle   and dark's  .Before we do this we had to finsh  are toys side that make you think .We stared to shany it in and pansial  colour first  and then you can stared to do in you favourite  colour  and we stared to do that  .We learn how to shandy it in your fovurite colour it is so beautiful . This is what we did today  to was so fun to do  because we get to do it and  we are doing something next week too of the same .This was part are  of are graphics.
