Tech

Today for tech we did a last session with  Miss Ferguson . I was painting  my Tic Tac Toe   white  Because it  look good on it . It took a long time to paint my board because the color was to light .I enjoyed make shapes on tinkercad .  Because  it is fun to make  I learnt form Miss Ferguson  how to use tinkercad and create new things.

Kiwi can

This week for Kiwi can we talk about what stops us focusing on  are task . The frist thing that we did with kiwi can was sit in the crile and then we start to talk about what was are topick  and theme and then we did are  Mexican wave .  We had to 2 try  of it and then we got it .We took to kiwi can about how we got distracted when   someone is talk to you or notification  of YouTube and email  .One way is turn of the notification . People don't  pay attention  in class .

Should Plastic Straws be banned in NZ

This DLO shows 2 points of view about if we should or should not ban plastic straws. We had to give to perspectives, this is a point of view. Then we researched plastic straws and found facts to help make our opinion. Opinion is what we think. My opinion is that plastic straws should be banned because of the damage they cause to the marine life.

Hello,  I am Ellenora. 

Do you like looking exactly like everybody else in the class, or do you like to be unique?

 I'm going to tell you why we should be allowed to wear whatever earrings  we want to school. We should all be allowed to make our own choice about what earrings we wear to school. 100% of students I asked all agreed that we should be able to wear any earrings to school.Choosing different earrings add color and style to my uniform. This makes me feel good about how I look and gives me confidence . Earrings can make us look fun, fashionable and fabulous.If we all wear the same  studs in our ears it gets boring and we all look the same. A lot of kids like to look different from other people because they like to look at themselves differently from everyone else.I'm sure you will agree that  we should all have the choice to wear any style of earrings to school.

L.l : To write  a speech  that  persuades afters to  think  the way you do. My speech is about  should be allowed to wear whatever earrings  at school .

If you don't use you expression you not have confidence to share to the class or a small group.We can give eye contact to the class or to a small group it is sach more better it do .I need to improve in is don't getting scared of get up and tall my speech .

Aesop's Fable

During book week we learnt about Aesop who was an ancient Greek slave who told stories.
We gathered information about Aesop and then read some of his fables. The comic strip I have made tells the fable about the old Lion. Aesop's fables always had a moral to them. The moral of the Old Lion is that the fox was wise and learnt from the other animals who did not come out of the cave.

Phonics 'ank'

My brother  had broken his ankle but before he hurt his ankle  he went to town . A tank picked up his best friend Frank to prank me. It was late and he got out of the tank and someone went to the bank and stole money. My brother thought to himself, maybe I can use my superpower to catch  him . My brother will not get hurt stopping this tank and then I hurt my ankle. He and his friends drank all night long as my mum was awake and got so mad.

This week for phonics we were learning about the 'ank' sound. We started by making our list and finding words with 'ank' in them. Then we solved some 'ank' riddles and made a word list. We also wrote our paragraph using some of the words from the list we made. To finish we listened tosome short stories and answered questions about the text. 

Inquiry

This week for inquiry we did a paper catapult .In my group is joel,Julian, Joseph,Rhys, Jonathan, Sandra .We did  was make a plan  to see if my group ones work .This catapult was a season 2 design it was working when we did this season 2 .We start to do my group design    it was hard put we got there .Because there was lot of roleing paper and try to make them strong .At the end of make the catapult  we got to shot it to the tager .

Tech

This week  for tech we did a desin on are game .This week did a bored piese for my game .I disenstion to do square  then circle  becuase  my chantes want fit in the space in side .My one is going to be Tic - tac -toe square piece in to . I like  my one to be cute  when my little piecs kimp out of the 3d pritiner .We did was send it to miss ferguson  so she can make it .That was today .

Tiny house

Today we are sowing are Tiny house and are process from we started to the end .We were working into 2 partner  to make this tiny house .We choose to do  3d for are  furniture .We had to finnish a tiny house  yestday and you can see the steps  that we did later in  the serson . We use paper ,scissors ,a rule , a computer .

Phonics

Ake 

My mum made a cake for my birthday it was full of flakes when we cut it open. She took a piece of cake and it tasted bad so she decided to make this cake taste good. She couldn't, so she got a cake from a shop. Then an earthquake started. Pancakes fell from the sky. I yelled "THIS IS THE BEST BIRTHDAY EVER".

Today for phonics, we were learning about the 'ake' sound and were making our list that has the 'ake sound' that we can think about and we need to find the 'ake' words in the story that we read and after that we were making our own paragraphs using the words on our list.

Hour of code

This week for reading we learnt how to do coding on minecraft. We did a hour of coding to understand more about reading the instructions code to get up levels  so we can win the  award  at the end if you finish the hole 12 games . The games get harder every time you levels up. Here is the link for hour of code if you want to play it .

Phonics 'ACK'

My teacher has a blackboard she teachers us our alphabet on the board, but now days we use a white board to teach us. One  day  my  teacher was attacked because she had a backpack that had a duck that was quacked all day long .

Samoan Programme

My book is about when you  get locked out  of the house. The family in this house  forgot the key so they were trying to get into the house thought the window dad  didn't fit  in  the window  so then mum tried and get thought the window but she could not get thought the window an then Iosua went thought the window but he couldn't get thougth .Then tia  wen the window and so could fit in side the window  and then she open the door .

Water Safety

This Tearm LS2 has their frist water safety  session for this year , Our topic for this tream I work with miiana and jeol . We wrote information about how to keep safe when you and in the river and this what we can change on .One of the facts I wrote was how man die more then women  does that what I wrote on the river safety d.l.o .

Tech

Today ate tech we finish are miss Anderson  on thinkercad .After we did that we did was are deign and make the this on thinkercad    and make Google sidles call dvelopment because we had to change this for it and are teacher had took a pictures of are dengin and then  we were thinking of what we can do for the colouers and I chossle pink and white  for the fox  and the black and white for the panda .That what we did this week for tech.

Samoan Programme

This week I have gotten the help of my cousin Florence. She has helped me read a book that is written in Samoan and English. Florence read the Samoan version of the book and I read the English version of the book. The book we read was called Swimming by Vaitoa Baker. We also had a book that we did activities in. The activities that were in the book were where we write a summary of the book and the draw a picture of my favourite part in the book. Florence would ask me questions on the book and ask me about my favourite part in the book. I really enjoyed reading with Florence.
